Highbridge Terrace was developed on vacant land purchased from the New York City Housing Authority as part of NYCHA's and HPD's joint efforts to identify sites for affordable housing. Highbridge Terrace is the first of two buildings to be developed on the site, which overlooks Manhattan's Highbridge Park. The building provides affordable housing for low-income working families at 50% and 60% of area median income, with units set aside for formerly homeless families and for NYCHA residents. The building achieved Energy Star certification and incorporates extensive high-performance and energy-efficient components. |
