Legacy Houses is the first Dunn Development Corp. project in Manhattan. Located in East Harlem, the project provides a mix of supportive housing for formerly homeless singles under the New York/New York III initiative integrated with affordable housing for working families at 50% and 60% of area median income. CAMBA, Inc., a well-regarded nonprofit service provider, provides 24-7 front-desk coverage and supportive services from a first-floor office suite. This project is a true public-private partnership, with land contributed by the City of New York coupled with subsidies provided by the State of New York and private bank financing. Adjacent to the Westwind Houses project completed in December 2012 by Dunn Development Corp., the extensive rear yard gardens and play areas of the two buildings are connected. The building achieved Energy Star certification and incorporates extensive high-performance and energy-efficient components.
